Wildlife Boxes program
Calista Primary School, through its Science and Environment teacher Charlie Ballard,
has been particularly proactive in its recognition of the plight of wildlife and
birds when urban development occurs.
For the last nine years the school has been involved with environmental activities
such as Ribbons of Blue, Weatherwatch and had a close association with Om-Shanti
Marsupial Hospital in Wellard.
Baldivis Pony and Equestrian Club
The Baldivis Equestrian and Pony Club run a full range of events throughout the

Om Shanti Marsupial hospital
‘Om Shanti (‘I am peace’ in Tibetan) was set up in 1981, and is particularly concerned
with the plight of wildlife in the Baldivis and Kwinana areas.
Lynn has been managing the sanctuary since 1996, with the support of her husband
Bob. Om Shanti receives little financial support and despite often carrying the
cost of vets bills herself, Lynn prides herself on never having turned away an animal
that needed her care.
Baldivis Volunteer Bush fire brigade
The Baldivis Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade was formed in 1979 is staffed by community
spirited people who unselfishly give up their spare time to protect our lives and
