Developers of Heritage Park Estate, Rockingham Park Pty Ltd were pleased to sponsor Baldivis Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade’s AGM and Awards night on Saturday 13th June 2009 at its Headquarters in Eighty Road, Baldivis..
The efforts of the dedicated and hard working Volunteers from the Brigade were recognised, with 2 members, Shirley Oliver and Bruce Horton, being honoured on the evening with presentation of life memberships by Rockingham City Council’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Richard Smith.
Richard Smith also recognised the contribution of Heritage Park to the evening and said he was looking forward to continuation of this meaningful partnership. Heritage Park’s financial support enabled all Volunteers and their partners to be presented with thermal mugs. Quite often the close families of Volunteers make significant sacrifices; Heritage Park wanted to make sure that their contributions were not overlooked.
Captain Karl Gill gave an overview of the Brigade’s activities over the past yea, which represented quite an increase in activities and call outs from the previous year. Unfortunately, some of the call outs were generated as a result of fire bugs. The public is urged to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
If you are community spirited and would like to contribute to a worthwhile cause, Baldivis Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade welcomes expressions of interest. The brigade can be contacted on 9524 2970.
